For vegetable producers, identifying the insects that ravage their crops is half the battle of pest management.
Bayer Crop Sciences has now helped this battle with the release of a new guide, “Field Guide to Vegetable Insects”. This guide is being offered for free, to anyone interested; growers, non-growers, crop scouts, and so on. David Kikkert, Portfolio Manager, Horticulture for Bayer Crop Science, claims that this guide will be a critical tool for making pest management decisions.
This resource is the first of its kind with full colour photos of 39-insect pests, as well as identification keys, the crops affected and relevant management notes. This is a great opportunity for growers to learn more about the pests in their fields and how to manage them, which could lower their costs of crop-scouts and associated outside pest management resources.
The following link will take you to a page where you can enter your information, and a copy of the guide will be mailed to your house, free of charge, in 4 to 6 weeks. Mine’s already on its way!
